Well I made the trip to Kentucky for their opening weekend of season. I met up with a buddy I had met on another forum 2 yrs ago and we have basically been planning this hunt every since. I got there Friday and we went out and did some scouting. We saw 3 toms in this one pasture so we waited around until dark to see where they were going to roost. Only one of them gobbled so we made plans for the next morning. We arrived early Saturday morning and got the blind set up. It was still pitch dark outside when the bird began gobbling. At day break he pitched out away from us instead of into the pasture like expected. After about 10 min and some calling he entered the pasture and blew out our ear drums. He covered about 250 yrds in what seemed like an hour but it was only about 15 min. He strutted all the way and gobbling. I shot him at about 20 yrds and my Canon Gl2 captured the entire hunt!!! It was awesome. He weighed about 20 lbs, 9 1/2" beard and
1" spurs.
