Favorite rifle caliber?

When my grandfather passed away I was given his Model 99 Savage in 250-3000. It was my first hunting rifle and and I have taken quite a few deer with it. It's really easy to carry all day but I think I would only use it for deer and coyotes because of the caliber. I like 30-30 and 30-06 for bigger calibers.

.50 caliber lead ball out of my TC Hawkins muzzle loader.

.300 Wthrby magnum next. The long range accuracy and consistency is awesome.

I would say a .270 because that’s the only one I own.

I also have a .50 rem muzzle loader, I like shooting patch and ball out of it. It's just fun to shoot. I would like to sell it and get a TC, but cant justify the extra$$$.

the best overall calibre for me is the 7mm Mag...

with that said i couldnt live without my 22-250.

for years and years i used an old enfield .303, the bloody thing weighed a ton but it was well used

I have been hunting here in WV with my Ruger MKII .338 Stainless/Synthetic Rifle. I have caught flack in the past from buddies of mine for "so-called overkill"...lol...I do all my custom handloads and feel very confident with this round. The gun is extremely accurate and I am very comfident with it. I plan on taking it to Sasketchewan this May for my Spring Bear Hunt with Larson Lake Outfitters.

A .338 in West Virginia!!!!! I didnt know there were grizzlys there.

He works on the same thinking that I have - do you want to shoot an animal then go looking it or shoot an animal then go load it up. I have hunted for everything from whitetail to moose with my .300 Ultra Mag.

I am just busting on him. I used to use a 300 win. mag and loved it for deer. And he makes his own load to so you can cut back on the damage in doing that.

well i have never owned a rifle till this past year when i won a 30.06 ., so im not sure what to think?
