Ralph...are you using thermacellsin Bear n down?

I have watched both bear n down 5 & 6...no bugs on the guys in the stands...what are you guys using? I am headed up to N. Alberta in a few weeks...wont be leaving WITHOUT my thermacell though. Some guys have told me that thermacells mess up your chances for the brutes...what do you think?

I'm taller than Ralph, but yes we do use Thermacells when we are bear hunting and YES they really do work.

Gary...I figured. I am going to Alberta again and taking mine for sure. Some have suggested that the bears can tell...I am not sure about that...any way Im taking mine!

With the experience I had with "skeeters" in Alberta....I wouldn't care if the bears could tell!!!! I went to bed at night and when I closed my eyes, all I could see was "them" buzzing around my face.

If your gonna' be in a tent, do yourself another and take a few coils to burn.

no adverse affects on the bears last year on my trip while I was using the thermacall. and on the days they weren't that bad, you can use the used pads for scent. cut one in half, add your scent, and fire that puppy up. heat will make the scent carry further.

we use thermacells too,the mosqitous are just to bad not to have something.The worst is getting them in your face netting and buzzing around.

Thermacells are the best... I use them in the early deer season when the flies are still out in force and it makes being in the stand very comfortable.

Thermacell without a doubt is one of the BEST things that they have ever come up with for early season hunting, no matter what your hunting especially bears. I can tell you and you have all seen it it has never scared anything from us. It is a tool we would not go bear hunting without, period! Even turkey hunting and early season deer hunting this thing is GRRRRRRRREEEEAAAAT !
