If it is a model 835 it is stamped into the turkey barrel-Not For Use With Slugs-.

The barrel is actually 10 gauge diameter and the slugs would be a very loose fit. You would have to buy a slug barrel.

I'll check that out. The person who gave it to me used it for dove hunting and skeet, mostly.

I realize this is an older thread, but wondered if the Model of this shotgun was ever figured out? The Model 500, 535, and 930 can all be used with rifled slugs(Punkin balls to some of ya), birdshot and buckshot. The slugs should be shot thru your most open choke. Buckshot is a trial and error thing. Some sizes shoot better from different constrictions. The model 935s and 835s have the overbored barrels and should not be used with slugs. Buckshot is okay, but the choke constriction thing still applies.

Mossberg offers slug barrels (both smooth and rifled) for all of their shotguns. A quick look at their website is a big help. Barrels aren't too expensive and are readily available.
