Well, I tried to get my first one yesterday so I could send you the wings, but the darn things wouldn't cooperate! My friend Matt from my Bible study met me at our leader's property, and we got set up before dark. Matt was calling, and I was using his shotgun. We were all ready, but the birds wouldn't respond. Maybe next time.


didn't even hear the first dad-gum gobble!

Keep after it! Rule #1: Just cuz they aren't vocalizing doesn't mean they aren't coming. Also, I have killed some mid-morning. Get your buddies and do a couple of "all-dayer's". Plus, a little prayer wouldn't hurt. If you've got birds there and you invest the time it'll come together Paul...just hang in there...and don't move!

Did you see any birds out there?

Only birds we saw that morning were a flock of crows chasing after a falcon or hawk. they must have been banding together to protect babies or something. But my buddy Matt had already scouted the area and found the turkey travel path.

One very good reason we left early that morning was that it was Matt's wife's birthday that day, which I didn't know beforehand or I would have said let's wait.

PM me your contact info. I have a pair of Rio wings I'll send you from my friends bird since I didn't connect on my own this trip. I have them freezing right now. You gonna' tell me how to use your call? I've only ever used mouth calls. I did decide I'm going to buy a box call before next season for the real soft and slow clucking and purring.

Bull, is this offer still on the table? If so, I have a pair of wings to send. How many would you want? (I'm asking because, if all works well, I might be able to get you several pairs by the end of the season...)
