Hard Winter

It's been a hard winter here and as of 3/11 we still have 4 feet of snow in the woods. The deer have been having a rough go of it but this doe and her little ones look pretty healthy.

its been cold and windy but the deer have done very well...its opposite of what ive heard with the pheasants though.

Deer aren't doing very good here,I haven't seen a deer in 2 months damn fish cops and cwd

Timba are you in the cull area i've seen pictures of all the deer in the pits seams like quite a shame that they (co's) feel it's the only thing availible to help out with the situation

Ya the pit isn't very far from my house,they are huge pits too.There are alot of pissed of people over this.I live in what used to be great deer country now I don't even see a deer on my drive to work any more.

What winter? We didn't get one this year. Made hunting VERY tough!

It was 90 on Friday when I got back home from Wyoming.

My wife and I have been out spotting a couple times this weekend, and we have seen lots of does with two little ones and they all look a fat and healthy as they did last fall .also seen a cow and calf moose and they too are just as fat and ugly as always.. seen two muley bucks still packing their head gear..as of this morning..seen lots of elk sign ..but no bear sign yet .. we only have about 6 inches of snow in the bush so it has been an easy wither on everybody..., man and tasty beast...lol

I got mulies all over my front yard. They are muchin away on my neighbors vine...thing. My kids are freaking out! "DEER! DEER!" "Hey there's the does! Gotta be a buck close!" Says my 9 year old.

You might read this and think its a good thing. Nope... We live in a very populated area. They have no where else to go now thanks mainly to over-development. A little over a year ago we had a small group of antelope that traveled near our place. Now I don't know where they are. I do know there is a HUGE 24 hour fitness type place that kicked them out though. God know where they've ended up. It won't be long before Colorado Springs and the Denver city limits are within spitting distance at this rate.

On the western slope of Colorado I've heard there are semi-weekly food drops choppered in for the deer because the snow has been so bad.
