Do any of y'all do any turkey trapping ?
I did it last year for the first time, it was an amazing process....they dropped me off at the dog house blind, all i had to do was hit the fire button when they showed up, pray that the netting caught them, lol.....i was told not to bring a call, but i did anyway, it was the only way i got them to come close enough...all we want are the hens, but i saw gobblers too.....we took blood samples , gave them a vitamin E or B12 shot for the stress, fitted them with radios, there was a lil more than that but thats the basics ....and i get to do it again tomorrow morning and Friday morning......and if i'm a good girl, maybe a few more times, lol....i am so excited...i hope i can get some really good pics....cross your fingers....it's the next best thing to an actual hunt for me....

No but I attempted to catch an injured gobbler with a bedsheet one time.
That didn't work out well. At the end we both hated each other and I lost a good bed sheet and some blood........skin.........pride.........etc. |

![]() The first day we had a group of 8-10 hen with a gobbler coming in, all they had to do was go around the palmettos and they'd be there....they never came in, just disappeared.... but he did gobble once so i was thrilled anyway, lol......the other guy got 3 hens at his site...then today i had a hen come in and hang out for 30-40 minutes, but i needed a min. of 3 hens before i could fire the net. I was hoping for another chance with more hens, but it got to be 70 degrees and we shut it down...we don't want them to stress too much and thats the cut off temp., so with the extra time i had left in the day,I had the chance to do some scouting afterwards.....didn't see much sign on foot, but i did find some nice areas to check out on google earth...might be worth checking it out...doesn't look like it'd be easy to get too, but it does look llike some prime habitat for some old swamp bird...... ![]() If y'all ever get a chance to participate in turkey trapping, you got too......
