Default Do you film your own hunts?

When you film hunts does anyone try to film it themselves without a cameraman?

I tried it once that was it. I needed a pack mule to get everything in. I always try to have someone go with. If not then I will film a buddy. Its to hecktic to do it all yourself. Plus you miss out on a lot of the detail. I filmed a hunt in Saskatchewan by myself. That didnt get to bad. I was hunting over bait so I knew where to have the camera pointing.

I also have filmed a bear hunt myself, and it worked ok. It's easier because of the bait, but not fool proof. Other types of hunt are very difficult to film on your own and get quality result. I don't mind filming someone else its just as exiting to me!

I have filmed myself on two different bear hunts and would not be afraid to do it again.....as long as the footage was strictly for my viewing pleasure.

As far as whitetails go........FO-GET-ABOUT-IT

I started bringing a camera with me this year. Sometimes it was too much of a pain or it was just to hard to get into the location to setup so I opted to leave the camera behind. I have an ok mount for my simple camera, although it is not a broadcast quality camera the footage would be ok for my usage.

I have tried to film a few hunts & did not have too much luck. Too much gear to pack & the light has got to be right. I will leave it up to the pro's & buy there videos.

I'll still buy the videos but I can think of nothing better than being able to have my own successful hunt on tape.
