I think that Ralph is just being polite and letting Vicki get the biggest one each year. He is such a nice guy!

maybe Ralph is doing what husbands are commanded to do in Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her"(NIV). In letting her get the bigger animal, he's "giving himself up for her", in a way.
