Timba...NICE bear! Great shot! Encouraging report after losing mine. I will reporting in in 2 weeks after getting back from Manitoba...they tell me there are some big ones on the baits.

First Bear. Shot with my PSE X Force SS, Maxima 350 arrows with 85gr Slick Trick 4 blade broadheads. Had a full pass through at 15 yards. Bear didn't go 20 yards. I think I found a new hobby!

Sandilands Congrats!! That is awesome!! Are you now hooked on bear hunting? I don't know what it is, but there is something different about bear hunting! Maybe it's the adrenaline?

I need to update everyone here.... Unfortunately Ralph has kicked my booty bear hunting! I know, I can't believe it either!!
Up in Alberta we had a rough hunt. The bears just weren't moving, spring was about 3 weeks behind and they had all of that snow in April that really messed things up! Ralph shot a nice bear the second to the last night of the hunt. I saw sows & cubs, but nothing to shoot at!
Manitoba was better, but the spring was still late and the bait stations weren't geting hit like they normally would. We each shot a bear, but Ralph again won!! A black bear with a 20+ skull and weighed over 400#!!
He & Gary are up in Quebec, flying home today. As of yesterday morning, no bears down! Again, late spring!! What is going on? I thought we were having global warming!!

Hey all congratulations on getting your bears this Spring. No spring season around here yet just a short season in September.

Vicki, thanks for keeping us updated on your hunts, congrats to Ralph and sorry that your luck wasn't as good as his. I'm sure that you will get another record bruiser to show us soon.

I keep seeing the bear that you all are getting and hope that someday I'll be posting a photo of my bear on the forum for you all to see. Wish me luck. Keep posting your tips and tricks for us all to see.

Vicki is right. The bears were late this yr. Now this was my first yr hunting bears but I had set the bait in early april and it didn't get hit until late may. Almost 2 months. Now some of the veteran bear hunters that had been using the same bait sites for yrs were seeing 1/10 the bears they normally did. Frustrating to say the least.
And yes Vicki Bear hunting is addictive. I will be in the woods every spring from now on.

will you be having a fall bear contest, too? Bear 2 and I will be hunting in Ontario this fall.
