So, What Do You Do During The Off Season?

I've gotta start some serious work on getting my shoulder back in condition. Really missed carrying my bow this past season.
Turkey season ain't that far off niether! Gotta irritate the wife a bit with my call practice.

If you had rotator cuff surgery, hope you recover better than I did. I only got 40% back and they say it won't get any better than that.

We still have 20" of snow on the ground and they're predicting another 4 - 6" this weekend. Taking my ATV in to have a winch and blade installed tomorrow. Is the snow ever going to end? If so, will it be before AUGUST???

This gourd carving/painting thing is taking off. So much for a winter pass time. Sold a gourd last week for $100. I guess it's true, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The guy that saw the "Hawkeye Gourd" wanted it bad.

No. No surgery. Doctor said I'd torn some muscles and they'd grown back short so he got me set up with physical therapy. Well, I found out right quick that I couldn't afford PT, even with insurance. $50 per trip, 2 or three days a week for the next 3-4 months...I went home and broke out my weight set!

Between the work outs and shoveling snow, I've been giving it quite a fit. Might have to shoot right handed or carry my 20 ga this spring, but I'll be out there!

I'm guessing that you mean "no hunting" as down time?

The only month that I'm not hunting/shooting is March. April starts up the varmint shooting, bear and turkey hunting. And on it goes till the end of rabbit and squirrel season the end of Feb.

I do fish and camp some in the warmer months.

I deer hunt in the 'off season'.

'Season' is Spring-Summer bowfishing to me.

I've been job searching. Even in the "on" season.

Also, a buddy of mine and I are working on a project that, we think, will take "JobSeekers"-type of support groups to the next level by incorporating some characteristics of small-group discipleship into the mix, especially the part about holding each other accountable for doing the action steps.

Please pray for us, that God will direct our project to where HE wants it to go.
