Default Hold On To Your Hats Boys and Girls

Today, in Southern Iowa we received 4" of snow. The National Weather Service just issued a Winter Storm Warning starting tomorrow with 8" - 12" of snow followed by 25 to 35 mph winds with gusts of 45 mph.

They're also predicting 8' - 12' snow drifts!

I guess I'll see y'all next spring!

Update: 10 - 18" of snow, 8 - 15' drifts, wind chill -20! Its snowing right now. I went and bought kerosene for the portable heater, gas for the generator, bought groceries to last 2 weeks. Flashbacks to 2 years ago has got me concerned.

The snow is still falling. Small wet snow. If the snow stays like this, it'll be hard for the system to make it drift!

Survived the night, now gotta figure a way out of here. Have 5' drifts where the wind tore down the snow fence!

To top it off, I went to start the tractor to blade the lane (1/2 mile long) and the battery was dead. Charged it up and the tractor still won't start. Murphy's law in full effect today!
