Default My nephew rocks!
This weekend was youth season, Will was working, so I took my nephew hunting. Saw one doe in the morning. As we were walking out we saw a spike but did not have a shot (he was shaking too much to risk it without a secure rest!!). As we were going home about 11:30 we started seeing deer everywhere. We grabbed a sandwich and headed to my dad's box blind (already had permission, was going to hunt there that afternoon anyway). About 1:00 we saw a doe and a buck way on the other end of the field. Watched them for over an hour, no shot. So he took another doe about 2:30. Got to my dad's, cleaned her, got a snack, headed back out. About 5:30 he got the second doe. Talk about an excited 12-year-old!! Now he can concentrate on his two bucks!

Sorry about the pics, camera phone, and the pics were last minute thoughts.

Oh I bet you were fit to be tied and I hope you didn't embarrass the young man. LOL Congrats to the both of you. Way cool getting the next generation introduced.

This weekend started our blackpowder season. My cousin brought along a freind's 13yr old son who got his first deer. I don't know who looked prouder...

Way to go guys. I have been taking my 5 year old with me in the blind. can not wait until he is old enough to hunt himself.
