Good night in the stand!

Went out to a stand last night that I put up on friday. Last week I run into a big buck in the dark on the walk back to the pickup. So i've been waiting for a chance on him. Seen him friday night, but didn't come by, seen him sunday night chasing does, didn't come by. Then last night went to the stand and right away seen a decent buck following does around in and out of the cedars. Right at sunset I seen the big boy walk into the cedars, so I thought what the heck lets see if he'll come to a grunt. I grunted a few times and the decent buck I seen earlier stepped out, I grunted a couple more times and here he comes. He come right down the trail 10 yards away, stood there looking for the deer that was grunting. He was a 4x5, probably a 130" deer.

Then I look back at the cedars and there is another buck standing there, he looked pretty good, but the other one was standing right beside me so I couldn't do much. Then he decided to go north to look for the grunting deer, so when he got out of site I hit the grunt twice and the other buck threw his head up and here he comes on the same path as the other one. I know it wasn't the big one i've been after but he was pretty good so when he got about 10 yards he turned to go north, I stopped him and I guess I pulled the trigger, its all kind of a blur.

It was a less than perfect shot, but one in the spine and you don't have to track them.

After a couple of follow up shots (my rule is if they are moving and in range shoot until the stop moving) I was climbing down the tree and walking up to a 6X7.
