Maybe it has something to do with how many posts you have, because the only choice I have right now in the "edit avatar" area is do not use an avatar. I have a custom one I want to use, but I don't have the option to upload it yet.

Go to "edit avatar" in your "User cp" There should be a custom avatar box. From there, click on custom avatar, then you can upload your avatar of choice.

Obviously special enough.
It must be due to your post count Monie; no avatar upload option for me either.
One forum I visited had the avatars only available after you reached 1,000 posts.
