Monie, When do you want me to post some pics?? It is absolutely beautiful here!!!!! I'll be heading out to a tree abot 2pm and will post later tonite with some pics, I hope of some bear.
Monie---I am the only female hunter here of 30 people hunting. A wife came with her husband, but she won't even go sit in a tree with him!!!!!!

Man, you are killing me! I woke up this morning thinking that I should be getting ready to hunt. GGRRRRRrrrrrrr!!

Next time, I will rely on someone else to care for my two little ones. If nothing else, I'll hire a babysitter to come WITH me!!

Here is my story from last evening:
5 bear were shot tonite, 4 recovered. All with guns of some sort. There is only 7 archers here including me, one with a recurve. I am the only female hunter got a room and bath all to myself!!! There is one other female who came, but she won't even sit in a tree with her hubby. They had been in Sask. Canada last year and she was out with her hubby bear hunting and a cub climbed up the tree right next to her and then momma came up after it. The woman was scared s***less. So that was it for her. Her 1st and last bear hunt!!!!
There is 30 of us here. I know that sounds like alot, but, 175 baits on 25,000 acres. Maine's North Woods is quite similar to Wisc. Norht Woods, but even thicker. Most of the trees I've seen, and they are thick are not even big enough to put a stand in, that's how thick it is. Aside from the shooting lane to the bait, you can't hardly see 5 feet around ya.
I did not see a single bear, but, had 9 coyotes of various ages and sizes come in starting with pups stragling in one at a time. I filmed some for a bit. At the end of shooting light I had 3 adults come in one right after another til all 3 were at the bait. Mostly white rather than brown.
The guide told me I must've done some good scent control to fool 9 of 'em. He said you are far more likely to see bear than the coyotes and if I could fool the coyotes noses, I'd have no problem with the bear.
So we will see what tomorrow brings. The bears taken tonite ranged from 175-200#. 3 boars and 1 old sow.

7 bear shot tonite and hanging in the cooler!!!!! That makes 13 with 26 hunters, so, the camp is at 50%. The big boy is still trying to find me!!!! Did not see one yet. Had only 1 coyote in tonite, and he came and stayed under my stand for awhile!!!! A couple guys had some moose, females and 1 with a calf with it near them. For those that like to trout fish, trout streams galore that are absolutely beautiful. Bear with me (pun intended!!) on getting photos up. I seem to be running out of time to work on getting the phots downloaded and ready for showing. But, rest assured, they will come and you will love them!!!!
I am so glad I came. So worth the 2500+ mile drive!!!!
