Ok all, ladybowhntr and I will be traveling to Maine for a bear hunt this year. If anyone wants to join us let me know and I'll help you get set up!

Where: Oxbow Lodge, Oxbow, Maine

When: Arrive afternoon of Aug 30. Hunt 8/31 - 9/5. Leave before 9am on Sept 6.

Cost: $1600
Deposit: $500 (the deposit is not in addition to the cost of the hunt)

Big Game License: $102
or
Archery License: $62

Bear Permit: $67

Archers only need an archery license and bear permit. If you will use a gun, even if you take your bow, you will need a big game license and bear permit.

This is going to be a fun hunt! AND we'll be there to see New England's FALL COLORS!! WOOHOOOO!!!!

I would consider it but my wife and I are expecting our first child and she is due around that time. Thanks for the invite, maybe we will catch up on another trip maybe even a Mule Antelope in SD.

Wife doesn't want to know the sex. I did want to know, but we only get a few REAL surprises in our life time so I will wait to find out. Have a few names out there but nothing in stone yet.

M. How long of a drive will it be for you when you go to Maine?

I was thinking of doing a guided bear hunt here in NH or in Maine but a buddy of mine who is a guide is going to set me up this year with a bait site or two. Tried it on my own this year but only had bear come into the bait for the last three days of the season and never when I was in the stand.
