I look forward to going to Montana pretty much every year (my wife's family lives in the Bitterroot valley). I spend about 9 days hunting WT, Mulies, and Elk. Haven't gotten an elk yet in all the years I've gone but will. Have not bowhunted elk yet but will soon since it seems to be the best chance to get a bull. My brother in law can call them in and he keeps bugging me to go with him. I think I might finally commit this year.

I have a GOOD chance of going to Maine this year in Oct for ducks/geese then a day of sea duck hunting.
Problem is I'm about 80% sure my partner will back out on me.

OH! OH! I know! I am looking forward to my first ever turkey hunt this spring!!! Our friend's friend (we are friends with him also but are not close personal, cry in your beer when his wife leaves him friends ... sounds hick, huh??) has a lease in S. Texas and he has invited a group of us to come with him in April. John, Carroll, and Corey are going hog hunting. Will and I are going turkey hunting. Okay, okay, maybe some hog hunting too (who can resist hog hunting with a bow?!?!?!).

So, anybody here have any tips on turkey hunting? I know Ralph and Vicki were turkey hunting on their show on Sunday so maybe Vicki (oh she of the bigger birds!!) can throw some advice my way on how to make my hubby look bad in front of all of his friends by killing the bigger bird!!!!

I'm thinking of really focusing on a Bear hunt this year. Going to try self-guided with a buddy of mine.
