Yesterday I saw my brother shoot at a doe that was looking at him. He was 40 yards. The deer jumped at the shot and knocked the arrow to the ground with her hoof. I have never seen anything like this. The deer walked off like is that all you got.
Anybody ever heard of this before? It is so unbelievable, except I watched it happen. SRM

![]() SRM, Can't say that I've ever heard of a deer doing that. Would have been cool to see, unless I was the one shooting...

I never shoot at a deer looking at me and now I know I will never shoot at a deer looking at me. I think she just jumped the shot and was lucky knocking the arrow down. If you figure about 276 fps at about 190 mph, that is impressive an animal can move that fast. SRM

Oh yea...deer can and do move that fast...just look at all the videos of deer jumping the string!
She obviously is against that very old, and honorable, martial art of Doe-Down-Soon. Hey...it's Rick's fault!!!!

Cool story and makes for some odd images thinking about how that played out. I don't think anyone who has hunted them or observed them would think they are stupid or slow.

I have attempted to explain to him and have offered to take him but he is adamant. Not against hunting, doesn't care if people kill them or not, just thinks they are stupid. Oh well, more for me!!!I have seen them do intricate dances around the arrows (mostly mine ) so can imagine.

I once heard that the vitals of a deer are the size of a pie plate...but there seems to be alot of empty space around a deer.

Would have been cool to see. In Montana I always see bucks crawling under the first strand of barbwire then lowcrawling through the tall grass til they are well past the fence...then the run like heck! Pretty smart.
