Default What was I thinking?

Note to self... Get yourself back in shape!

I loaded up my stuff Monday afternoon and headed off for a little stroll. The stroll took me across pastures, up and down a hill or two, then up the side of a mountain, with the soul intent of putting my climber stand in a particular areas that has acorn falling so bad you need a hardhat! On this little stroll, I'm carrying a Gorilla climber, a bow, and a fanny pack full of junk that I probably didn't need anyway. All those afternoons of shooting my bow, to relieve the frustrations of work, should have been split up with some physical training. I keep forgetting that I'm not in the 20-30 age bracket any longer.

I finally got myself up the mountain. Legs were burning, shoulders and back are screaming and I'm huffing and blowing from the pull. How in the heck did I get like this? I used to breeze up these hills with no problem. I reckon I've reached what my Daddy always called the "metallic age"... silver in my hair, gold in my teeth and lead in my a$$..........!
All I know is I've gotta get some of this lead out!!!!!

Yeah I know the feeling and your right about working out. Your dad's metalic age is something I hadn't heard before but oh so right. Good stuff. Get that pack really loaded up and go climb that hill a couple of times a week might just get the lead out.

Lifting all those years to build up...

Now I'm on the Eliptical more than the weight bench...

I'm 37.
Athsmatic.
Allergic to everything under the sun.
I sit on my butt for a living.
Then I sit all night at home.
I weigh 245lbs and I am 5'11".

I videoed some of our wanderings on this last hunt and at points all one can hear is my constant "wheeeeeeeeeze" even on flat terrain.

Needless to say... I understand.
