Anyway, Rick is my best friend.
I grew up teaching myself how to hunt as I had no one to show me anything. I met Rick several years ago and we've been hunting and fishing together ever since. Rick is a hunter ed. instructor and an RN. He works in pediatrics. He survived cancer back in 2000 and has a colostomy(sp?) bag as a result. He also suffers from sever joint pain from the radiation. That hasn't stopped him one bit. His son is 9 and mine is 7 so together we do our best to teach them about hunting and fishing. ![]() Who got you into hunting? |

That is awesome, farm!! Nice pics.
![]() Both of my granddaddys got me into hunting. My maternal grandfather was into upland hunting and trout fishing, and my paternal grandfather was into big game and bass fishing. I had the best of both worlds!

That is fantastic! Those two boys have some fine role models
I grew up on a farm but my family did not hunt so I was kinda self taught too. My grandpa was an old coon hunter, but by the time I was old enough to have an interest his health was declining. I got most of my early information from books and started running trap lines when I was about 13 and it just blossomed from there. I think once it's in your blood, there's no turning back

self taught as no one else in the family hunts. whined for 2 years before dad finally bought me a gun. 20 guage pump. used that gun for years. then bought a 12 guage single shot. thats when I learned to shoot. one shot = one kill.

My dad isnt much of a hunter. But he always took me when I wanted to go. And I am thankful for that. But I when I got into archery hunting I really had no one to show me the ropes. Then in 1997 I met my best friend Jason (my taxidermist) and hes the one that really helped me become a better archery hunter.
