Today after using the water hole and stalking with the decoy they ended up using a combination of both and got good video footage of the good buck and a good kill. The good kill did come after two misses on the same buck but I guess third time was the charm for Mini Me as I call him. That would be Keven and I started calling Bucky Buckshot just for the record. They had two encounters at the water hole first thing in the morning but they came straight in and straight out to drink and never did offer a shot. After a while they did some stalking in the hayfield hoping to get a chance to use the decoy and tried several times from several angles on some antelope but things did not work out. Walking back they saw a antelope buck drinking at one of the water holes so they got into position quickly and put up the decoy. Even though we have been very wet this year the decoy would not go deep enough into the ground to stand up so they just let it fall over and got ready for the shot. The first shot was a miss and the antelope looked around like what the heck and only took a couple of steps. Almost the same thing on the second shot. The third shot was right on and the antelope ran a little ways and looked around for a couple seconds and then took off running. He did not go far and by the time they got to him he was expired. Congratulations guys and great guys they are. They both have to work in the morning and have a 13 Hour Drive so they packed up and headed out. I do not have any pictures yet but Mini Me will send them if he can figure out how to run a computer.

Sounds like they've been studying ACM_Gary's style of antelope hunting.

Well better Gary's than Joe's.

Oh crap! Did I type that out loud?

Ahem...

Well... Firediver will be out there soon. I just hope we don't get treated to any Speed Goat porn this year!

We just got back from down close to those guys and had a good hunt, we ended up shooting some good goats. Here are a couple of them. We started with full body decoys and had a couple smaller bucks come in but we ended up sitting water holes because of the hot temps.
