Bowhunting Black Bears this last year has been a fantastic journey and I wanted to share two of my most memorable hunts of 2008.
The Bear-N-Down series really prepared me what to expect on stand and while up to the plate. For myself nothing compares to Archery bear hunting.
Thanks to Archers Choice for making the best dvd's out there for bear hunting, it really helped a lot.

In June I turned 40 and flew to New Brunswick for my first Spring bear hunt. I took a beautiful 275 lb boar on the second night and this fall I returned to Minnesota where I took my first archery bear last fall and scored again on the second night, when I took a barren sow that tipped the scales at 297lbs. ( I also saw a young Blonde bear that in a few years .... I'd like to see again!)

It has been a great year for me as a bear hunter, I was lucky enough to harvest four in Just over a year. Maine, Minnesota and New Brunswick were amazing places to hunt. I truely love this animal and the hunt them is greatest challenge of all in my book. Speaking of books...I have re-booked in Minnesota and New Brunswick for 2009 and as my log on name says "Bearaddict" , i'd say ...truely fits appropriately.
