Last week, I'd been fishing in the river most of the day. When I got home I went upstairs for a shower to wash off the river smells. I put on some clean clothes and started down the steps to the living room. Think I actually STEPPED on 3 of the 12 before my feet flew out from under me. The remaining steps got a good pounding from my behind, back and shoulders. I tried to catch myself on my hands and ended up doing something to my left shoulder instead. I've been leaving my bow alone, which is about to kill me. I'd been spending 30-60 minutes a nite shooting. Last nite while eating dinner, I found out that I'd evidently slammed or clamped my jaws together right hard too. I had big piece come off of a tooth!
It's bad enough not being able to shoot and considering seeing a doctor about my shoulder, now I've go see a freaking dentist! I HATE DENTISTS! Poke me in the eye with a sharp stick, but please, don't make me see a DENTIST! Okay, I'll quit whining. I'll call about an appointment...tomorrow. Thanks for reading.... Ya'll be careful on the steps at your houses!

I'm not "planning" on being out for the season. My wife isn't aware of the shoulder stuff...yet. I was gonna go out for some practice shots tonite, just to check it out. I told her about the dentist(AHHHHHH!) this morning. She didn't seem too sympathetic. She think my phobia is funny!
I'll let ya'll know tomorrow, what happens. It hasn't hurt all that bad this weekend, so maybe I just wrenched it a bit.

Well I'm gonna tell you what I told Timba... essentially...
You need to make sure you can operate the equipment safely... even if that means putting it down to heal up for next year. You can always go hunting again. Hate to read that you pushed it and now you might never be able to again. Just a thought...

Whew! The shoulder operated okay. I sure am glad! Might be a little tender, but I ain't gonna push it.
Now to call the S&M guy(DENTIST). This I ain't gonna like! Least it won't keep me out of a tree come Oct.

You might consider wearing a safety harness when navigating your stairs
Sorry couldn't help it.Seriously, I sure am glad you had no SERIOUS injuries. I hope all goes well with the docs (yes, even the dentist) and I'll say a prayer for ya. I hope you heal in time to have a good season, but don't push it. You've got a lot of hunting ahead of you in the future. Stay safe. I prefer Hunter Safety Systems
