My wife and I were watching some deer the other day and she uttered this simple phrase...

"I could probably shoot one... It's like they are taunting you..."

I was shocked!!!!

My Southern California wife who was leaning on the Anti-hunter / Anti-Gun side when I met her 6 years ago said those words!!!!!

Who knows what the future will bring?????

I agree. Start with a bow, a gun can be a bit loud to a newcomer and spook her!!!!

My wife was kind of like that too,I've been trying to get her to come out to sit in the stand with me at sping bear,she would but its hard to find some one to watch the kids.She said if I had a ground blind she would come with me for deer,so I bought one yesterday.She evn tried shooting the brother in laws 22 last week so now theres and excuse to be one for her

You all should get them on here and have them talk with Brook, Carol, Casey, Chass, Cheri, Christy, Deb, Holly, Kim, Laura, Linda, Lisa, Marti, Monie, Shannon, & sometimes Vicki.

(If I missed other ladies I am sorry... working from memory here).

I'll bet the ladies can convert them quicker than we can.

Surprise her with a trip to a bow shop. Let her try shooting one that's set up for her(weight wise). If you get her one, practice together and leave ALL critical comments and opinions somewhere else. Encouragement goes a lot further than critisism(SP?).

If you're thinking about a rifle, look for something that's easy on the shoulder. I'd get her one of her own, instead of talking her into shooting yours. Don't feel bad about looking at youth rifles if she's smaller statured.

If ya take her hunting, be patient with her. If she gets cold and wants to leave, leave without getting upset.

We,as spouses, don't get to spend as much time as we'd like together. This is ya'lls chance for some quality time. Don't let it slip away.

She actually already has a TC Encore 22-250 with a bull barrel. I wanted as little recoil as possible. She likes shooting.

The bow is out of the question for awhile because of shoulder problems...

I offered the ground blind idea this season and I have not gotten a response..

Now its just a wait and see....

Well thats some exciting news for you! Wish you luck! It took Holly a few years to get her involved. Now she is turning into a hunting monster. Let us know how it progresses.
