So it's coming up on that time.
My bow has shot A LOT of shafts now and I think I may be overdue for a new string. Bass Pro wants $20 to put in on, but I'm not sure I'm overly happy with the string I had on there. It was a good string... but I guess I expect the things to last longer. I have a bunch of little hairs all over it, and the more I wax and shoot, the worse its getting. Preacher mentioned what he thought was the string manufacturer, but danged it I can remember now. Anyone have ideas on a decent replacement string/cable manufacturer?

I just put an set of H&M strings on my 07 Vulcan and changed the cams on it also to make it the right draw lenght. It is still at the shop I haven't took the time to go an pick it up as of yet. Will see how I like the strings once I start shooting it, Might have to order another two sets for my back up bow and wifes bow also as they both are soon going to need to be replaced very soon as there is some wear on them. Couldn't beat the price just under $50 US for the whole set.

Winners Choice is a good string, as York said.
I use Trophy Bound strings. They're danged good. You can choose any color combo you want. A cool one, that my bow tech used a couple of years ago, that I now see on the Primos team's bows, is flo. orange and flo green. I think I paid 70 for a set of string and cables. http://www.trophybound.com/ Just keep doing what you're doing with the wax. You definitely don't want the string to dry out. That'd really tick you off!

Just remember you get what you pay for. And the string and cables is what holds your bow together.
Winners Choice and Vaportrail are pre stretched so you don't have to worry about your nock or your peep turnin on ya. As the cheaper strings stretch you nock will move up or down, if your not using a tube to align your peep it will turn and when you get to full draw you won't be able to see out of it.

I understand that, but I found a site where I can get the string... oh nevermind. I just looked again.
The "String" is just that... the cables are additional. I get it now. I withdraw my previous "expensive" comment.

No because the squirrels get me all sidetracked. They have some odd theories on evolutionary issues, and I just can't help but have the conversation.
