I'm left eye dominant but shoot RH. I've done the patch thing, close one eye thing, etc. I find myself more accurate with both eyes open and focusing on the left image (of the double image that I get), even though it is not as bright as my dominant eye image. Any drawbacks to this weird method? Hope this makes sense, I'm a little confused myself.

It makes sense. I've seen a lot of people do it with decent results. However, they're not as accurate as they could be.
It does take a few weeks for your eyes to switch dominance, but it can be done. If you just can't handle doing that, then try shooting a left handed bow. I'd really hate to see your accuracy be so so when you could take some time to switch eyes (or bows) and nail the x at 50 yards.

Hey Bull ! The way I shoot, sometimes, you'd think I was closing both eyes!
Though I shoot rifles and shotguns with both eyes open, I've yet to be able to accomplish this with a bow or handgun. Can't figure it! Maybe I'm just not trying hard enough, yet. If you're hitting consistently with your "style", by all means stay with it! What works for one, doesn't always work for another.

I have watched several Pro DVD on form and sighting and the majority say to use both eyes. The dominance will take over or be assisted in gauging your target better with both eyes open. It takes some getting use to practicing that way to shooting but it makes sense when you watch the DVD's.
