Something Really Worthwhile...

I gotta tell ya... I have been around some real dregs on society in my lifetime. Between the drug addicts I went to school with, and the low-life inmates I used to deal with, (some of which were the drug addicts I went to school with... go figure), I've seen just about every piece of garbage this planet has produced.

I am helping Kevin with his new site, and a thread was started there by Cale asking everyone what they did for the 4th. A few of us responded like most everyone I imagine would, by saying we saw fireworks. We ate. We had a grand old time.

You all know Nate and Preacher. Nate runs 4D outfitters, and Preacher is his guide there. They spent their 4th of July giving a very sick little boy the hunt of a lifetime. Seth was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on Wednesday, July 25, 2007. He looks like a great kid, and just look at that smile. See, Nate and Randy could have been spending time with their families, but instead they took the time to give Seth a great hunt, and a memory that could help him through some rough times.

It's just when I have lost hope that I seem to run into people like Kevin, Deb, Randy, Monie, the Adams, Brian, Scott, and everyone really in the hunting community, and I am reminded not all are a waste of flesh and bone.

Randy, you and Nate make me proud to know you. And I am proud to call you friends. I mean that.

Now I think we all can do something to add more happiness to this boy's life. This is a website set up for him by his folks. There is an email address on that site. I would like to ask everyone to take a little time out of their day to send Seth a big ol congratulations on the hunt, and well wishes.

The following is a reply I received back from Seth's mom when I sent him an email, how incredible of a feeling!!! Everyone please send him a word or two! I assured her that he's made more friends and more prayers through this forum than he can imagine now!!!

Thanks for the link and for the sweet message. Seth truly enjoyed his outing, even though he did not feel the best in the world. It was a great time with some great new friends and great memories were made that will last a lifetime. Thanks so very much for your note.

I visit caringbridge for a few people I know and 1 young kiddo named Seth that I don't know personally. I sent a message to him as well. I will take this a step or 2 forward, there is a foundation set up in Seth's name, if you would like to donate you can find the info at caringbridge.
