Albino bear shot in PA

There is no way I would shoot one that small my dog is bigger then that, give it a few years and see what you would have had.

I have nothing against shooting albinos, but shooting cubs.

That bear was taken on a bear drive in central PA by a group from Tau Phi Delta, the ONLY outdoors based fraternity in the country. They were featured in Field & Stream a couple years back. The territory they push is BEYOND thick. The guy saw a bear busting through the brush, picked an opening in front of it and shot when it hit the opening. He didn't realize how small it was until they recovered it.

I have friends in the fraternity that were present on that drive. It's one of those "split second decision" moments. The guy regrets it for what it's worth.

Yeah I will agree sometimes its tuogh to tell how big they are coming through the laurels. I could see not being from PA it would be hard to see how it can happen. For those who arent from PA. We cant bait so you dont always get the best look at the bear. Most of the bear are shot in drives and they can motor. Im not saying it was right or wrong but I can see how the mistake was made.

I went to the website and viewed the article. This is my first time and first season as a hunter but have gone hunting every season with my hubby for the past 8 years and he has taught me well on the value's and ethic's of hunting . Even though I have personally never shot anything let along held a rifle until these past few weeks but I would have let the lil critter walk.

For start we all know this is not albino it is just a blond bear. I see the photo and it looks like 47 lbs was average for these hunters. I see this alot some hunters have a very hard time turnung down a colour bear. Don't take a 6.8 black but shoot a 4.8 colour.

47 pounds??????????????????? Give me a break, I dont care what the rules say. All three of those bears should have been allowed to walk. We dont even shoot 47 pound hogs here. Talk about a lack of hunters ethics legal or not, the guys should have waited. Nothing to be proud of in that picture.
