Default Heres a situation... What would you do?

Alright I am pretty fired up as I type this. Holly has a few cats and one of them is an inside-outside cat. Its been missing for 3 days. Well I was telling a coworker about how its been a bad 2 months for Holly. We lost 2 cats to natural causes that we had for years. And now this one is missing. And cats mean the world to Holly like hunting does to me. Thats when the coworker mentioned a name of another coworker. (Who happends to live next door to me and is relation.) This guy was telling her how he is sick of all the cats in our area. His dad has tons on his farm. So this man decided to start eliminating some cats. Well after hearing this i knew as soon as I got home I was going to snoop in the woods between my house and his. Well it wasnt long a found a few cats piled up. And yes one was Holly's cat Rufus. So I left him a message why he shot our cat and so on. And needless to say Im pretty PO'D. Not just for the loss of the cat but for how much I know Holly's heartbroke. Ok Thanks for leaving me vent. But what would you have done? How would you handle this?

Thanks

I would make him apologize to Holly. I'm not much on cats myself but if he is a neighbor and family I'm assuming he knew you have cats. If he new that crap (insert harsher word) in inexcusable!!!!!

I'm not big on cats either, but my little sis has a bunch. I help her feed them, etc. and she is attached to them like family. She sheds some tears in the event of one's passing, but I'd be pretty darn Hot if I found out someone just shot it because there's too many. Worse yet, is them knowing that you have cats and it could be yours.

Our barn cats just had some kittens and I would tell you to come and get one or two for Holly, but my little sis would kill me! She's ecstatic that one was born without a tail. Lol

If he doesn't do it send me a PM and I'll come up and deal with him....

Having little girls has made me a protective SOB..

It's making me mad just thinking about it.

First let me say that i am sorry for Holly's loss and know how comforting pets can be.

Here comes the but.

I am tired of people who have pets (mostly cats) and let them out to roam the neighborhood. I had a neighbor who had cats and let them roam. I have beagles that are outside dogs and I do everything i can to keep them quiet. One night the dogs are barking I go out and yell at them and the neighbors cat is sitting on the dog box while the dogs bark at it. I chased it away. 2 hours later door bell rings, it is a cop, same neighbor with cat called to complain about my dogs barking.

Can you see why people could be unhappy about other people letting their cats roam free.

I also have them tear trash bags up, muddy paw prints on my truck and when they are ready to mate it is even worse.

So if you have cats and you keep them in your house/ yard than I love you and the cats. Let them roam free and we have a problem.

Jeff,

I can't say I don't agree with what you said.

However, the big difference here is this guy is a neighbor and family (correct me if I'm wrong).

You don't do that to family or a neighbor. You try to solve it another way.

I ain't much of a kitty kinda guy, but killing them, just because, is going a little far. You mentioned that the guy is a relation? How good a relation and how much trouble do ya want to cause? A call to the local ASPCA or Animal Control could get some stuff started and quickly. Particularly if the remains of the cats are still there.
