Ticks are real bad this year in PA. I've already pulled two off of the dog and one off of my daughter. Thats just from my back yard.

Holy Smokes! I did a Google search on Permectin and that looks like serious stuff. For use on animals or premises with a 30 day residual effect. I don't know if I would like to get any of that on me.

if you do end up with a tick on you, take a cotton ball and soak it in liquid dish washing soap. put the cotton ball on the tick, and for some reason, it will attach itself to the cotton ball.
ticks are bad this year because of the cool, wet spring we have had. wheres the global warming when we need it? ![]()

Spring before last I got a great turkey...and 6 ticks, but only one latched on. My buddy pulled it off and said, "Don't worry, it didn't start eatin' yet." So, I didn't worry. Two weeks later I had fever, rash up my legs, couldn't stay awake...I had Lyme disease. Took a bunch of antibiotics and cured it but now I am VERY leary of those stinkin' ticks!
I wear a bug suit when I turkey hunt now and probably should whenever it's warm. After being sick they just scare the you know what out of me!

A friend of mine is a Taxidermist. She stayed sick for quite sometime before a Doctor decided to check her for Lyme disease. Sure enough, she had it! Still having relapses, occassionally, because of the time it was in her system prior to diagnosis.
