Bears Down in Quebec

Just got back from a Bear Trip to Quebec with my father. We both got our bears on the 2nd day of the trip. He used a rifle, I used my new PSE XForce SS, Maxima 350 arrows, 85gr Slick Trick 4 blade broadheads. All the practice on my 3D bear at home paid off. It all happened so quick I didn't have time to think. Can't say enough good things about the guides Mike Labbe and Select Wilderness Adventures, his wife Mary and their guide Max treated us like family! This trip was mainly for my father who would never have done it for himself! They went out of their way to ensure a great trip! Before anyone says it, yes Dad's bear did have a little ground shrinkage. They are both trophies in our book!!! The trip was everything we could have asked for!!!! My kids and I watch you guys all the time. Take your kids hunting but don't forget the old timers that took us out into the woods!!! Dad would never have done this trip if I didn't arrange it. Enjoy your parents while you can!!!

I think trophies are in the eyes of the beholder. I say AWESOME job to you both! I wish my father would go on a bear hunt, as interested as he is in my hunts I think it would be a hi-light for him and in all liklihood there are not a lot of years left. Kudo's to you for making it a family afair

Thanks everyone! It is a trip neither of us will ever forget. I am and will be a diehard whitetail hunter. I think you call it Severe Whitetail Disorder. I set up this trip because my Dad has always wanted to get a real chance at a Bear. Now that I've done it, I can't wait to go back. I get excited when a big deer walks by, but my heart about jumped out of my chest when that bear came into the bait. Its a good thing he hung out in the brush crunching on old bones from the bait! That gave me time to calm down enough to hold the bow steady. I'm really liking this forum. I've been on a few and got real tired of people complaining or fighting. So far, this forum seems to be for real people , like their show, who just care about hunting, family, and having a good time.
