So is it just me, or are limbs getting shorter and shorter?
I was reading an article in Outdoor Life and I swear the limbs on some of these 2008 bows are TINY!!! I'm sure its not an optical illusion that the risers are getting WAY long too. What's the deal?? At some point we won't be able to get the dang things into a standard vice... then what??? Wish??

Yep, wish in one hand and spit in the other.
lol ![]() You want short, look at the LibertyI. The little sucker is the bow version of a handgun! ![]() Anyway, I know what you mean. I think that technology and design are just getting better. So, the need for long limbs is being replaced by a more efficient limb design and better cams. I imagine that at some point we will no longer need a vice. There are already a few bows on the market that don't need one.

Colorado Rick it's a shorter brace height I think is what is being seen. The race for speed is moving the brace height down under 7" and the limbs are showing it in the length. If you look at bows with a 7" or more brace height the limbs are back to normal.
The bow Monie has brought out is the real deal and in the right hands it has taken about every big game animal out there. |

I shot the liberty the year it came out at ATA, its actually a pretty nice shooting bow if you can get your head around it. The hard part for me was the string angle....it jus seems like something is off when you are at full draw. But it is actually very pleasant to shoot, I think it would be great for a backpack trip or bowfishing.

Ok so is that a bow for a midget er what?
That is just rediculous. I can't believe that design would hold up to a 60 to 70# draw. And the Draw length to 28 inches??? You gotta be kidding me. Where would a Peep sight go? 4 inches below the top cam? I mean seriously! If it's just limbs, then the compact compression would mean a DRAMATIC "V" on the string when one draws the thing.

Ok so I looked again and sure enough... the peep is RIGHT ON THE CAM!
Not sure I like that idea too much. Can you imagine a limb snapping on that thing? Sure the risers are getting smaller too, but that thing has a what... 3 inch "riser" at best? That thing just looks dangerous. Maybe I'm a big ol' wuss on this...

It's all about the brace height my brotha'
Shorter brace height means faster arrow & more kinetic energy
