Some of our group are trying another place East of Laredo in Feb. will let you know if it is any good when I get back! I still have hogs in East Tx. I can sling arrows at.

Yeah, there are still tons all around here. Night before last I was leaving work and saw two boars in the ditch. When I crept up to them they backed off to about 20 yards and continued rooting. When I opened the door to my truck they trotted off. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE HERE. Guess I don't need the Shoot Out but weekend excursions can be fun.

The ranch we went on wasn't anything as good as the Callaghan. The host at this place was nice enough to flag all the good spots for him and his buddys the day before the hunt. We did get 4 Javelina dispite the fact.

I heard javelina weren't that good to eat. Is that true?

We just got back from a 5 day hog hunt in Southern Texas and what a trip it was.
Lots of hogs, lots of havelina and lots of coyote. Allowed an animal a day and we ended up harvesting 8.
This year there were more sows and little piggies than we have ever seen so next year should be a banner year if the little ones make it. Lots of colored and spotted hogs at this ranch.
Anybody looking for a great place to go and non stop action, Fair Chase on the Mexican border is the best.
