You're sweet. It does look pretty tall, but I'm sure that's just the angle of the camera.

Congrats Monie! My guess it makes book too from the height of the horn. The Taxi job is very well done. Especially like your choice in paint/wall color to mount that buck on too, stands out well.

I hope mine looks that good when I get mine back in 10 months from Colorado.

Thanks BD. Randy Routier's taxidermist did the work. I wanted someone who was familiar with the critter to do the job. I should have had him do the butt, so I could mount it on the other side of the wall!

You know what would be really great? Get a mount with it's head down, like it's getting ready to charge. THEN, on the other side of the wall have the rest of him perched, with alll fours on the wall, like he's trying to pull his head out!! HA!

That was my thought too, not many pronghorn are done by taxidermist in Ohio so I left mine back Colorado to have it done by recommended folks who do them all the time. Plus they have in staff an official scorer for P&Y or B&C, and I assume SCI. I talked with him (the guy who will score it) and he marked his calendar when he should allow for drying and score it. He'll then will fill out the paper work. So if I want to spend the money to register it and send it in I can. Personally I'm happy with it as it is and look forward to honoring the critter by enjoying it's steaks. I had some Colorado Pronghorn steaks while in camp and they are by far better than any venison I've had, probably on par with exotics like fallow or axis deer steaks.

It makes for some awesome summer sausage too! I actually like it better than venison summer sausage.

Monie, Taking a look at your last post on your goat you still hadn't had it measured, that post was in August 09. Did you ever get it?

He netted 68 6/8". He made the books. Of course I added him. He's in the current issue of the P&Y periodical. He grossed 70" but lost 1 2/8" because of the stickers and the glue. (*~*)
