What was your first buck with bow?

Mine was this 5 point in 1998. One of the happiest days in my life.

I got a a little 6 point, believe it or not, back in 2002. Yes folks, I started bowhunting just 6 years ago.

It was something I knew I wanted to do since I was a wee lass, but my mother was like Ralphie's mother, "You'll put your eye out!" I took the plunge and went to a pro shop...that was after I bought a bow from Wally World and whacked the heck out of my arm. My entire forearm was black and blue. I took the bow back and decided I'd better get some help! lol

mine was a little 5 pointer. I will never forget it. I had wanted to bowhunt for a long time, and finally decided i was gonna do it. So that summer I worked construction for my dad, I had just turned 14. I saved all my money and bought a fread bear vapor 3000. I also spent all my free time building a treestand that i knew would be the best stand on the property. It took all summer to build because I had to use scraps from the construction. THe stand was only about 8 ft off the ground. It was also huge because it was made mostly of 2x12s. So one rainy day after school I headed to the woods to sit in this tree. I was only there about an hour when i saw him coming. I shot him at 8 yds, and he dropped at about thirty. you could not have found a happier person in the whole world that day. By the way, My mom killed her first bow buck out of that 8ft homemade stand, and my little sister killed her first deer out of that stand.

Sounds like you put the stand at the right place!

little 6 point that was at about 7 yards. if he would have been any further out, that arrow would have missed as I was shaking so hard at the time. that was back in '95. have dropped a few since then, and still get those shakes at times. great sport.
