Now that I've seen that, and the Mooise Mania vid... I gotta ask...

Are moose blind? In MM, the guides all walk around with boat oars on their heads. Now I understand why they smack the trees with the oars, because it sounds like a moose moving through the brush... But when I saw the guide put the oars over his head, and really when Vicki put her BOW on her head, I stopped thinking "These people are nut-jobs" and started to wonder if moose are dang near blind.

So now you post this video of a moose stopping by a hunter's position for a quick oral exam with a broad-head, and I have to ask... Are the blind, or is this a case where they are just not exposed to man enough to fear him?

I gotta know... it's driving me nuts!

I was wondering the same thing - but I was guessing that particular moose never saw a human before so smell and appearance must not have mattered.

There's another video there with tamed moose that must imprinted to humans, it's hoot to watch.

I went on a moose hunt about 7 years ago and the guide told us their vision isn't that good. But would you really want to take a chance at being trampled by a 1200lb moose?

My boss and I both were losing it as that moose just got closer and closer... and with a calf trailing to boot!!

That is just nuts! Moose are strange beast... to say the least.

I've had a small bull walk by my stand about 6 yards or so,he looked right at me and hung around my stand for about 15 min.
