Do you setup? I get as close as I can. It depends on the cover and terrain for me.

As close as possible w/o spooking them. If I know where a bird is roosted, I'll go in an hour before light just to be safe

i try to get as close as possible, a couple of times, i was too close, the one time, it still worked out, the other, well you know, it didn't work out, lol.....within 50 yds. is good for me.....

Sneak in untill you're busted then set-up about 30 yds before that point the next morning

Last year I went in the blind before Adam got home from work. I can't believe how close we were to the roost...amazing

I found a roosting pine today, terds everywhere,my very first one ever that i found by myself, lol......(it's the lil things that mean so much , lol), but i can't hunt, it's in a no hunt zone.....oh well.....it was good to find one anyway....

There's one area I like to sit that is 150 yards from an outcropping of trees that they like to roost in. Scary thing is I have to walk through in the dark to get there and am walking within 50 yards of those trees. I got to be like Elmer Fudd going in til' I get passed the trees.
