I was grunting about every 2 seconds or so on average the day my buck showed up, then I stopped grunting except for a couple well-placed grunts to get him turned where I needed him to be.
Thank God it worked!

After a big meal???
sorry I had to. I'll call blind and have some good luck with it. You should try combining your grunts w/ some rattling during the pre rut...I've had some good luck with it.

I grunt blind and have luck with it. As far as rattling don't think it works that well in New York.

I usually dont grunt until I see a buck. Every now and then I will grunt blind.

I'll blind grunt and when I see deer. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I think, the deer where I hunt are used to it, so I have backed off.

I grunt blind. However, this year I saw a doe walking by in the trees nearby. It was the end of the day and she was just moving by. I grunted hoping that she would come to the sound. I waited about 5 minutes after the grunt which I thought was enough and then grunted again. It seemed that she had come back in close but still out of my sight and as soon as I made the second grunt she spooked and bound off into the forest.
DARN, I should have been more patient.
