Things seem to be a bit slow on the old swd,so here is my story from last year.I had got a new deer spot .just before the seasonand had only been on the property one other time.Oct 1 is opening day in ontario for deer. I went out on the first and saw a big doe and a fawn. But just couldn't shoot. The next day i could get out was the 7th.I set up on the ground about 10 yards from the trail the doe was on.It was a great day. Sun was shining a breeze in my face.I clear the ground so that there were no leaves that would make noise and got ready. But of coarse it happend ,I fell asleep. It may have been30seconds (more like 20 min.)and when I opened my eye ,there he was walking to me a buck.Ranged some stuff around me real quick.Just as he stepped in to a lane,he turned walked in my direction.By the time I could get a shot he was so close that when I looked in the scope of my bow I couldn't tell if I aiming at his nose or his butt.So I moved the bow so I could see his eye and then quickly moved it back until it was just behind the shoulder and shoot.A perfect shoot.40 yard track job and there he was a big pile of steak and summer sausage. In that area I can only get one deer tag. I scouted when it got close to the rut rubs and scraps all over. Can't wait until this year.

Thanks for the great story and pic. Memories are what its all about! Hope you smack down a monster this fall! If you are still hunting the rut you may want to nap with one eye open!
