I hope they keep them for awhile here, SD seems to think our antlerless season needs to go to the end of January, there's alot of bucks that shed get shot.

That's why Missouri moved it up. Ours used to be in early January, then in early December, this year, for some reason, they moved it right after firearms season in November.

I've shot 2 bucks as anterless deer during our rifle season (runs 2 weeks straight starting the Monday after Thanksgiving). They'd both already dropped their antlers, both were huge deer with large holes on their heads from the pedicules (sp?). Both in the same valley between my uncles and grandfathers homes. I've never hunted there since! (I did it 2 years in a row!)

Not a clue what would cause it. Just dumb luck I guess. 1 deer was all by himself, the other was in a whole herd, like 8-10 of them. I glassed them, saw no antlers, picked the biggest one and hammered it. Walked down to it and was like "You're kidding me! AGAIN?!" haha

Heard that they've started here in Southern Ontario over the past week or so been hearing of 1 antlered deer running around and then a friend shot a big doe last night (so he thought) and it turned out to be a shed buck.
