Default Second buck same stand

Yesterday I told my freind I work with he should go sit in the stand I shot my deer out of because I've been seeing a really good buck for the last week or so. I didn't have a chance at him before I got mine. So we went and he sat in that stand and I sat in another stand I had about 250 yards away. I was watching some does and fawns when my phone vibrated in my pocket, I answered and he said "if we find this deer i'm going kiss you".

He came in with two other bucks, stood right underneath the tree for over a minute then finnally offered him a shot. We let him go for about an hour then started to look. We knew there wasn't going to be a blood trail because of the high entry and no exit wound, plus it started to rain about an hour before dark. We went to were he last seen him and looked for awhile and nothing.

Well it was a sleepless night for both of us. It was raining hard this morning and we headed out shortly after light. We just started grid searching through the cedars and sloughs and found him about and hour or so after we started. His shot got one lung and nicked the heart and he still went about 300 yards. It is and awesome buck (bigger than mine) and I couldn't be happier if I shot it myself. Not a bad stand two bucks in three days.

To many folks shoot something off a stand and think it's done for the season. Ya'll sure proved that theory wrong !

Congrats on a fine buck.
