Default Ralph or Vicki Help please

We have never hunted west of Manitoba and are looking at hunting northwest Saskatchewan way up 6 to 8 hrs. NW of Saskatoon. All things being equal is there much difference between the last 2 weeks of May & the first week of June, is one better? I understand Mrs. Nature runs the show and she does as she sees fit! Great show. We don't see it that often when we are not up to our waists in snow but, I can't believe how down to earth you are!

Where in SK are you thinking of going? I've hunted 107 miles north of LaLoche several times, you'll have a great trip!! lots of color phase bears up there. Depending on the year, I've found May is typically better. The bears seem to be a little more active, it's still relativley cool, and less greenery for them to munch on. If you are wanting to do a lot of fishing while there then the earliest I'd go would be the last week of may. I've been there the 3rd week and most lakes were still iced over. The first week of June, can be good too but if you have an early spring it can get a little warm and shut some of the activity down. Also, remember the later you go the better chance your bear may have rubs on it. Good Luck!!
If the basic criteria for a vampire is a living entity that sucks the life out of you in order to sustain itself, then I know a few. They tend to hide out in Washington, DC.

Don't miss the new epidsodes of ARCHERS CHOICE. Mondays at 10:00am, Tuesday at 6:00 am and Sundays at 12:00 est!!

I hunted near Meadow Lake the first week of June back in 2003. It was very warm, definitely an early spring, but I was covered up in bears.

It is always a guess. You might pick the best week as far as spring's timing goes....but you may get rain every day.

Flip a coin....then do a best out of three...then draw straws...then rock-scissors-paper.....this should help you pick out the best week to go
Why shoot on the last day what you wouldn't shoot on the first?

I hunted north west of LaRonge in the Churchhill River system area the first week of June and the bears where in rut then. Weather was moderate. Bears where on the move and good diversity of color phase bears where taken that week in camp.

One year to the next it's never the same up there from one year to the next to make the best week of it that year. Hunt and have a great time.
