One other thing...if I don't have my own bow or rifle before time for a hunt at Randy's, does he have equipment there we can borrow?

Let's take it one thing at a time....

1. For antelope, Randy requires a $250 deposit. This is NOT in addition to the hunt price. That will leave $1500. Depending on when you're going to go, you can divide that price by the number of months. For instance from now til sept, is about 8 months. So, $1500 divided by 8 is $187.50
(Randy let me pay what I could up to the hunt date and I made the final payment the night I got there.) He is really very easy going about that. If for some reason you just cannot hunt and have payed the deposit, Randy will apply that to another year's hunt.


2. I don't think that Randy has any weapons to borrow. Your best bet is to find a good one, that fits you and practice, practice, practice. If you're going to use a gun, you have to put in for a draw and you may not get it. Your best bet is to use a bow. Those are gauranteed. You just have to apply for the tag and they send it to you.

If you don't have a bow, I have an old one I can send to you, but you MUST get a new string for it. It may work for you and it may not. Take it to a pro shop and have them help you with it. Would that be ok with you? It's a PSE Nova. It was my first bow, and I had good luck with it. Maybe it'll bring you a little luck.

3. You can go whenever you like, as long as he's not booked for the dates you want. Like I mentioned before, my group will likely be going the 3rd full week of october. That may give you a little more time to save money and make preparations.

Well, that might work. And my Birthday is right after that week (the 29th), so maybe my wife and I can work out some way to get it paid for by then as a birthday present (and Christmas, and maybe next year's birthday, too).
