Default Marti's 2009 Turkeys - Points for the Girls!!!

3/28/09 Henry County, TN - Opening morning from my HS 10-10 blind trying to hunt and keep dry! Had two gobblers come by about 100 yards out with 10 hens...needless to say they weren't leaving them. Shortly after that had six big jakes come in from the other direction. They had been gobbling like the big boys too...so, I said "Gobble like a big boy, die like a big boy!" Only five jakes walked away from that set up.

4/21/09 @ 6:30a.m. - Willard, Greene County, MO. Two jakes were leading the way for this double-bearded gobbler into my decoys. They were answering my HS Ring Zone ceramic and Infinity Latex Stagger 3 calls. The gobbler weighed 20 1/2 lbs, had 10" & 7 1/8" beards and 1" spurs.

4/28/09 @ 7:20a.m. - Willard, Greene County, MO. Filled my second Missouri tag this morning at 7:20a.m. They gobbled a little on the roost but once they hit the ground they still aren't saying much. I was using the Infinity Latex Tech 3 mouth call this morning. Due to the extreme damage caused by the Winchester Xtended range shell and the tight choke on my T/C Encore I left the turkey topper bag on for pictures. He weighed 23 1/2 lbs, had 9" beard and 1 3/8" limb hanger hooks!

This was my first year of filling both my Missouri tags and I was on two pieces of property I just recently got permission to hunt. Looking forward to more hunts on these properties!
