and those who whined my chili recipe "don't got no beans", here's my recipe for baked beans the way they should be made. Bushes baked beans ain't got diddly on these here beans!
GI Beans AF Hunter #10 Can Van Kamps Pork and Beans 1/4 lb Brown Sugar 3 large yellow onions 1 lb bacon 32 oz ketchup 1/3 cup French’s Mustard Drain the liquid off the pork & beans and put in pan and set aside. Cut the bacon into 1” strips and fry. Remove the bacon from the grease and add to the beans. Slice and quarter the onions and sauté them in the bacon grease. Add the onions and the brown sugar to the beans and mix. Add the ketchup and the mustard and mix again. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cover the beans and put them in the oven. Bake for 2 hours, uncover and bake for another hour. For a little zing, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper before baking. |
