I am having my bear mounted as a 3/4 mount. Just got back the back paws from the taxidermist. I want to cut the claws out and am wondering what is the best way to do this. My taxidermist said to waite until it gets hot out and put them in a jar of soapy water for about a week in the sun with the lid closed. Keep changing the water each day. After a week to put them in the jar with amonia for a week or so and then take them out somewhere away from the house and rinse them thoroughly for a while and the claws will come off easy. Now with it being December and no warm weather anytime soon, is there another way i can remove these claws now?

go to www.taxidermy.net and do a search on the subject. Should be able to find what you are looking for there.
