Ok ladies our new hunting ground is LOADED with deer!! We are on the Platte River and we are there to reduce the doe population. I couldnt believe the amount of bucks I saw!! I had one come in on the trail and he stopped suddenly and looked my way, I heard a noise and had a doe directly under my stand. Then I heard another noise on my left and two more bucks came in! Now I cant move, my heart is pounding in my chest, and the doe moves off in the underbrush. To make a long story short, I was able to draw on the doe, one of the bucks spooked a bit, I whaa'd at the doe to stop her (she started to run) and two times I got her stopped but with junk in front of her so I didnt have a clear shot. What a rush!! Later that night a big doe busted me (I was impatient!) so no deer for me. Shorty did take a doe and one of our buddies missed. We did see three shooter bucks and the hubby watched two of them fighting.
Sorry ladies, but I tried!! I will be in South Carolina this weekend at the National Women in the Outdoors event (so no hunting for me) and then the first weekend in Oct I am going on a Turkey hunt, but then it is hunt hard for the rest of the season. I already have a week off in Oct and a week in November.
