CPD, no one asked, so I will. you hunting here in illinois? or somewhere else? if here in state, north, south, east, or west? you'll see plenty of deer either week, but the second week will be closer to the rut. if the outfitter is good, he'll get you on to them.

Just kidding. ![]() I know a guy in Fulton County and he has killed some SLAMMERS over the years.

I would say it depends on the type of hunting you want to do for me I love rattleing and calling in big bucks to my mock scrapes for that 12 yard shot! with that in mind I like the begging of the rut the farther you get into it the more does you have coming into heat, this keeps bucks moving but out of patterns because they don't have to check scrape lines or fight for that one doe thats ready. Both time are very exciting but for me I like being able to call to bucks looking for that hot doe instead of chasing one.
