We may go to the Pow Wow at Indian Steps. My wife is half Native American.

What should we expect???

expect music, dancing, and they have lots of cool things to buy-crafts jewlery all kinds of things. Last year they let the kids go in the circle and dance and they gave them fruit for participating-not just one piece either it was an armful. They have native american food and regular food also. You'll have to let me know what day you are going to go. Maybe we can meet.

WOW! That would be cool! I'll see if I can make it. No, I've never touched a blanket or taken a seat, but I've heard stories of people who had! YIKES! My dad always warned me not to touch the blankets or the drums! He was forever pulling me away from the drums. Those drums mesmerised me! lol

The dancing is awesome! I love that women are now allowed to dance in the same arena as the men. I really like the Women's Fancy. I hate to say it, but the other stuff is boring. Oh boy, I think I just heard my female ancestors turning in their graves. They actually had a show last night, on RFDTV, covering a Pow Wow. It was nice to see one televised.

You should expect a really good time! Lots of food and celebrating! It's really nice to be around other Natives.

Here we call it Bannock. And Yes Indian Taco's are great. When made fresh its also good with just butter or jam. I also get Bannock pops....... Indian versian of pizza pops. I will try this recipe as most of my Bannock turns out like a pound cake....... thick. Itys supposed to be light and almost fluffy. I think I overwork the dough. I have lots of native friends and they don't even use a recipe, they just throw it together and when it feels right they fry it.
